In an effort to improve the efficiency of operations at Palm Springs International Airport and bring a higher quality of services for customers to travel, the city has agreed to rent the car park at the airport.
The City Council has a contract for the extension, almost twice the size of the existing facilities, making it easier for travelers to get their cars back. The project is estimated to cost $ 1.6 million.
The Council's decision to extend the car rental service comes at a time when there are very few airports in the country in which customers the convenience of picking their rental car directly in front of baggage claim.

The area for expansion is located directly in front of the airport and the northern part of the baggage claim area. There are currently 149 car parking spaces in the "ready-to-rent" lot; 122 rooms. In the "return lot," "there are currently 75 spaces, 87 will. Construction is expected in June.
The extension is for the money, which is currently used by the customers of the shop facility, a $ 10 fee, each user of the car rental. Money collected from the fee can only be used for the improvement of the rental car park.
