Murcia, Spain is a great city to visit, because there are so many things to see and do. The city of Murcia is the capital of the province with the same name. You can fly into Alicante airport or into San Javier airport. San Javier is just outside of Murcia, but it is a smaller airport and therefore may not be as frequent a flight schedule. Flights to Alicante are often at a discount, because it is so much to travel.

In Murcia, you want to rent a car. Firstly, in order from the airport to the hotel, but also for travel in the area a bit. You can rent a car at a meter in the two airports. At the airport of Alicante, you can find it immediately outside the main arrival and departure procedures. Renting a car at the airport of Alicante is probably the best way, but in San Javier, it may be a better deal if you rent a car from agents in Murcia. It can be very cheap to have a car pick you up in San Javier, since this is a very close the airport. On the way home the same, only the car owners the flight numbers and they know what time to pick you up.

Sightseeing in Murcia is out of sight. The Museum of Science and Water is a great fit for you and your children. They have a planetarium, and many shows and exhibitions. Make sure to see the science room, where children can scientific experiments and demonstrations of their own.

The Museo de la Ciudad (City Museum) is a very popular destination for families. The building was originally the home of the sixteenth century, a prominent family. If you have not yet learned enough about the history of this region, visit the Archaeological Museum. Besides culture and history you will find many other interesting things to see and do in Murcia. There are beautiful beaches, where the sun and the sea. It is a beautiful lagoon, known as "Mar Menor (little sea). In this picturesque body of water is through a land bridge from the Mediterranean and is a beautiful, sheltered place for sunbathing. And chief among the water attractions in this area are the salt marshes near San Pedro del Pinatar.

The Cathedral de Santa Maria, between the fourteenth and eighteenth century shows its long construction period of exhibiting many different styles in the same building. Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque architecture vie for your attention.

Up to all the sights of this activity, Murcia hold many festivals for citizens and visitors. Easter is the occasion for the elaboration of the festival, but you can find festivals almost every time of the year. The music festival in July, the Sea of Music Festival is a special delicacy.
